QuikClot® Combat Gauze® Z-Fold is a soft, white, sterile, nonwoven gauze impregnated with kaolin, an inert mineral that does not contain animal or human proteins or botanicals. QuikClot® Combat Gauze® Z-Fold is an improvement on the original QuikClot® Combat Gauze®. As a result of feedback from the US Military, Z-Medica improved the QuikClot® Combat Gauze® product by making it z-folded, vacuum packed, and with an X-ray detectable strip. The QuikClot® Combat Gauze® Z-Fold is even easier to apply since the gauze is in a z-fold format, which makes packing wounds easier and eliminates the risk of the roll falling away and getting contaminated. Must have for IFAK and Level II first Aid Kit, stop the bleeding.

QuikClot Combat Gauze
Came time to replace expired Combat hemeostatic gauze. A small price if needed to save a life. In a chaotic environment, X-ray visible gauze makes more sense post-event vs. civilian hemeostatic gauze when someone else takes over treatment. Was always taught to plan for the worst and hope for the best. As such, expired gauze goes into the training kit.

i have not used this product, happily, so far; however, after seeing the size on a computer and then receiving the actual package, i am a bit disappointed for the amount of gauze for the price.
i did not find the price equitable for the amount of gauze sent: in any emergency of size, i question that any serious wound will be stopped by just one package and would have preferred some indication that more gauze or additional bandaging would be suggested. i will continue looking for similar products that may be more price-conscious to supplement my emergency kit with more such gauze. thank you.

Wasn't planning on using it, happy I had it!
I had to use this product at my job when I came across a person bleeding out in one of our public restrooms. While waiting for 911/EMS to arrive which ended up taking about 7-8 minutes, with the help of another co-worker we were able to apply the QuikClot Combat gauze and follow it up with NAR Compressed gauze too that I also got from here. Topped it off with a 6"inch NAR compression bandage and the bleeding was under control. This product truly is an amazing thing to have on you whether it be for you or for someone else. Never wanted to HAVE to use it, but now I know it works 100%! Will buy again!
