FDNY Adopts the Rescue Essentials Slishman Traction Splint (STS)
FDNY, after a comprehensive review of all commercially available traction splints, has adopted the use of the Rescue Essentials Slishman Traction Splint (STS). The STS will be carried on all FDNY ambulances and its application taught to all EMT's and Paramedics. The combined benefits of rapid application to the patient, simplicity of design and ease of training were all factors in the decision process.

The QuikLitter XL is a larger size at 80” x 40”, has 14 grab handles for maximum weight distribution and an increased maximum load rating of up to 1000 pounds. Two integrated patient retention straps help to secure the patient in the litter when transporting over uneven surfaces. The new Quiklitter XL comes folded in a 8” x 11” x 4” package and weighs only 2.2 pounds.
