I bought this pack based on the fact that it is all over the Internet on many sites for medical kits. The only thing good i can say about it is that it seems to be durable. But that's my only good comment. Here are the not optimal features: its too heavy; the organization pouches and pockets dont make sense; it has pull outs that conceptionally make sense but they are heavy and i am not sure what goes there.
I think this pack has potential. I am going to use some Conterra components in it to augment it. I wish it came with a packing list or pictures with the gear in it that the pack was designed to carry. But the way it is now, I am gutting it and putting my own components in. Some day, I will try a Merit pack. Should have done that first...
Hope this review helps make a decision for you.
This bag is huge. Even larger than most 72-hour or 3-day packs. It has an abundance of options for configuration as well as customization. You are going to spend some time if you choose to fill and arrange this bag.
Only down side is that this is a lower-tier product. It is perfectly suitable for light duty or vehicle carry, but if you are deploying this bag daily, it will probably be best to go with a higher quality product (at 3-4 times the price). I could see the back padding being the first to go.
I'm prior military infantry trained as first responder this bag has lots of room plenty of pockets and leave thinking what pockets to use for now's and opals and for upper or lower trauma to minor cuts and scrapes
bigger than expected, very nice pack with lots of compartments and many options to put all the different items regarding your preference.
The pack is very spacious, and I have found that there is more than enough room for what I am carrying in it. The two removable pouches are handy, and the inner pocket accommodates a soft-stretcher well. Only drawback (and it can be far-reaching to call it a drawback) is that I had to do a slight modification to my shoulder straps to give them a little extra room. It was tight over my carrier and primary gear, but by removing some of the stitching in the shoulder strap, I got a little extra room. Otherwise, well-built pack!
