The TK-4 One Handed Compression Strap now features a newly developed woven elastic textile band (3” wide by 40” long) that provides incredible strength and flexibility. With one steel hook fastened steadfast (three thick hog rings per S-Hook) to both ends of the elastic band, and packaged in a small, vacuum-sealed pouch, TK-4 is ideal for applying direct pressure over a wound or for creating pressure on an extremity to reduce blood loss.
TK-4 has been deployed by the US Marine Corps, US Special Forces, and numerous law enforcement and emergency services as a quick way to control severe hemorrhaging while minimizing size and weight.

Compact and simple to use
We use them in our medical kits, and they're fairly effective, especially for their size & price.

TK 4
BOUGHT 10 OF THESE FOR BOK FOR CHILDREN. "OPERATORS" TELL ME CAT AND SOF ARE THE WAY TO GO BUT PRICE, SKINNY LIMBS AND EASE OF USE WERE DECIDING FACTORS. GOT 5 FOR THE COST OF 1 CAT. THROW THEM AT A TEACHER AND THEY CAN WRAP AND GRANNY KNOT IT. 4 STARS BECAUSE HAVEN'T USED ON AN ACTUAL PATIENT.

pocket size
Most compact tourniquet that works fairly well. Most comfortable to "pocket". Not dependent on a plastic windlass. I find it the most comfortable to care in sports or plain cloths.

Simple to use for people new to tourniquets
First, Rescue Essentials helped me out of a bind. I needed 15 of these for a class three days from time of order. They came through and I got them the day before. These are excellent for people who have never used a tourniquet before. They are easy for self application. While I prefer a CAT tourniquet I carry both. This will get the job done when applied appropriately.

Best Tourniquet for the money
For the money this is the best tourniquet, also due to the nature of the material if for some reason you can't properly apply it using the hooks you can tie a knot in a way similar to the first step of tying a shoe lace to stop blood flow and continue to tighten from there.

Next Best to the CAT
This product falls second in line behind the CAT for an EDC TQ. I have several TK4's. Thankfully they are affordable enough that you can get more than one, train with one, and carry the others. Unlike the CAT after about 30 uses under blood stopping pressure the TK4 will burst. Obviously this is not as much of a concern with a one time use. I have carried the trained with the SWAT-T also and went back to the TK4 as my EDC for several reasons. 1. It's lighter weight. 2. It carries well in the pocket (rear) 3. It's easier to apply one handed. For that reason alone it made my EDC list. The SWAT-T is very user friendly as far as carry is concerned, however one handed application is difficult. Especially under stress, covered in blood, water, etc. I would highly recommend this product.

Compact and simple
I was looking for a compact tourniquet as space is limited in my go-kit. This turns out to be just what I was looking for. Wrapped in a vacuum pack with easy to read one-handed instructions on the packaging
