1 out of 3 was dead on arrival. Good diffused light, not as bright as Fenix E12
I ordered five 5.11 lights total, with three being the single battery variety. 1 of the 3 was dead on arrival. I'm still waiting for the return to be processed by Rescue Essentials. No replies to my last email days ago. This light has a very nice, bright diffused light with barely a hot spot. The Fenix E12 is my EDC pocket flashlight and while it's brighter, it also has a serious hot spot right in the center. The 5.11 was a few dollars cheaper than the Fenix and to be fair to the 5.11, the brightness appears to match the advertised specs as far as I can tell. Having 2 working versions of this light, I was able to swap the tail cap and batteries to see if the dead on arrival issue followed the button or the LED and unfortunately, it followed the LED. While the 1 of 3 failure may not be a statistically significant number, it's all I have to go on and it's not looking good. Minus 0.5 stars for a faulty flashlight. Minus 1 star for it passing through 5.11's quality control. Minus 0.5 stars for being out-shined by a competitor. I have to give this little light 3 Stars.
