The Blizzard Survival Blanket is the new standard in thermal protection for casualties. This extra-large blanket wraps around a casualty and seals with a self-adhesive closure. It can easily be reopened for examination of the casualty or medical intervention. It provides total warmth and weather protection associated with the Reflexcell™ material, reducing shock and guarding against the risk of hypothermia in all conditions.
Reflexcell™ has a cellular construction to trap warm air, is elasticated which helps draw the material to the body reducing cold spaces and heat loss, and finally, silvered surfaces to block heat loss by radiation. It is completely waterproof and windproof. Blizzard Blanket
We use this for our cold weather patient package and find it unparalleled for ease of use, ability to restick and with the air baffles it helps keep the patient warmer. Its light weight with a big win to weight ratio for a Mountain Rescue Group.

Best of the field.
The blanket is not one single layer of metallicized material it's three, and not right together it's quilted. The size of the small kicks your average survival/first aid kit space blanket out of contention alone. And as it is a survival item at most I would on take a half star off for crinkle noise. As Cher said..."Simply the Best!"

Impressive upgrade to the standard emergency blanket
I give it 4 stars only because I haven't tested it yet, it's heavy, and my research indicates it does develop condensation. After testing I may change to 5 stars. I researched extensively before purchasing 2 fir my emergency kits. The research indicates this may be one of the best emergency bag/blankets made. There are some impressive videos and survival stories available that indicate this is the Cadillac of emergency shelter bag systems, with the weight of a Cadillac. The thing is a brick.
