When newborns first enter the world after birth, they can have a hard time regulating body temperature and may be severely impacted by the surrounding air temperature. The Blizzard Baby Wrap is intended to counteract the affects environmental factors, such as temperature, wind, or precipitation by providing a waterproof, windproof barrier, made of a material called Reflexcell. The Reflexcell technology includes a metallic surface to a reflect heat on the infant and elastic seams to contour to the baby, reducing cold spots. The wrap is sealed on each end to create a pouch, similar to a sleeping bag, with a hood on one end, space for feet on the other, and an open seam down the middle. The seam can be secured with adhesive strips, that can be opened and closed for access to examine the baby. The Blizzard Baby Wrap is a key product to keep in an EMS neonatal kit. Before use, wrap baby in a cotton blanket, then apply the wrap over the blanket and secure in place with the re-usable double-sided tape.
